Paragon Officers File a UD Election to Stop the Payment of Dues to the National League of Justice and Security Professionals

NLJSP-Notice of UD Election

This election is to determine whether employees desire to continue in effect the union-security agreement included within the provisions of the present collective bargaining contract. Under such an agreement, the employer and the union may require that employees make certain lawful payments to the union in order to retain their jobs. Only one valid representation election may be held in a 12-month period.

All armed and unarmed Protective Security Officers (PSO) employed by Paragon Systems performing guard duties as defined by Section 9(b)(3) of the National Labor Relations Act, assigned to Federal facilities at 200 C Street SW, Washington, DC, under the Employer’s contract No. HSHQEC-16-J-0040 during the payroll period ending January 28, 2016

Mr. Mikell,

As the lead representative of the PSO collective body at 200 C Street SW FOB-8, I hereby reject the Union of the National League Of Justice And Security Professionals (NLJSP) as the representative body in all matters concerning the collective bargaining agreement between Paragon Systems and the incumbent PSO force of 200 C Street SW FOB-8. We will exercise our right to elect a new union during this option year. Any further actions taken by NLJSP without the consent of the representative body will be noted as a illegal action and the National Labor Relations Board will be notified immediately.

In order to allow NLJSP sufficient time to secure counsel and correct this procedural deficiency, it is hereby ORDERED that the deadline for NLJSP to answer or otherwise respond to the complaint is extended to July 22, 2015, nunc pro tunc to May 21, 2015. It is FURTHER ORDERED that Plaintiff’s 9 Motion for Default Judgment is denied both because it is now moot, and also for failure to comply with Fed. R. Civ. P. 55(a).
