Two people are dead — including a 14-year-old boy and a Lehigh High School basketball star — and at least 16 are injured after a shooting Monday morning during a party at Club Blu in Fort Myers. Here’s what we know about Club Blu.

What happened?

The club hosted a teen event Sunday night called “Swimsuit and Glow Party.” It started at 8:30 p.m. with free glow kits and beach toys distributed at the door to celebrate “Vonte Birthday Bash.” People were not asked to present ID because it was a planned birthday party for teens. Four hours later, police responded to a shooting in the parking lot.

“We did everything we could to make sure these kids were safe,” Filardi said, noting at least eight armed guards were there for security. “There was nothing we could do … a car rolled up and just started shooting.”

There was a series of gunshots fired in rapid succession, she said, leading her to believe one of the guns involved was automatic.

One of the security guards also was shot, she said.

Security guard lost $15M worth of jewelry at Grammys: suit – A Manhattan jeweler that lends pricey bling to celebrities for red carpet events says a security guard lost $15 million in baubles during this year’s Grammy Awards. Luxury watch and jewelry house Chopard — which regularly lends its pieces to the rich and famous for the Grammy’s, Academy Awards and Golden Globes — hired Ferrari Express to secure the 53 pieces of jewelry.

Ferrari transported the pieces to the swanky Montage Hotel in Laguna Beach, Calif. on Feb. 14 for an unnamed celebrity fitting, according to the suit, filed in Manhattan Supreme Court.

But that night, instead of sending the rejected jewels to a secure vault as promised, the luxury pieces remained in the driver’s van, parked outside of his house “with minimal, if any, security” in a Los Angeles neighborhood, according to the suit.

The Ferrari employee “drove to his home in a neighborhood in which vehicle thefts are common, parked the Ferrari van on a street near his house, then went into his house leaving the jewelry unsecured and unattended in the van overnight,” the court papers read.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Police said someone shot and killed security guard Stephen Wills around 12:30 p.m. at the Pearl at Spring Creek Apartments, where he was on patrol. People describe Wills as a hardworking and friendly. They said seeing him on patrol made them feel safe. Wills, 46, was an Army veteran and father. So far, police have released few details about what led up to the shooting or who may be responsible.

Victoria’s Secret security guard assault,

A woman used a pair of Victoria’s Secrets Pink pants to attack a security guard at Citrus Park Mall. Around 9 p.m on July 7, a woman caused a verbal disturbance at the Victoria’s Secret after she was asked to leave by a store employee because the store was closing. The victim, a mall security guard, responded to the disturbance and also asked for the suspect to leave. While exiting the store, the suspect expressed her agitation and used a pair of Victoria’s Secret Pink brand pants to strike the victim about the left side of his face.

The suspect exited the mall through the main south exit and fled by unknown means in an unknown direction.

TAMPA, FL –Everoy Farqnarson a security guard working for a private security firm, Iron Eagle Security, was arrested after getting into a fight and firing his weapon in the Ybor City parking garage at 210 N 13th St, Tampa, FL 33605 early Sunday morning.

It happened at the parking facility located at 2010 13th Street North about 3 a.m. Sunday. According to Tampa Police, 31-year-old Everoy Farqharson, a security guard working for a private security firm, confronted the victims about urinating in the garage. He boxed in their car with his cart, preventing them from leaving.

During the confrontation, Farqharson pushed one of the victims and then knocked the phone from the hands of the second victim who was recording the argument on video.

According to police, the guard fired his weapon and the victims fled. At least four shots can be heard on the video of the incident.
