Police and witnesses said before the deadly shooting, the suspect held a knife to a Kroger security officer’s throat when confronted during a robbery around 7:20 a.m.
Investigators said around 7:45 a.m., as they looked for a person matching the suspect’s description, the confrontation unfolded.
Chief Eliot Isaac said a struggle ensued and an officer shot the suspect multiple times.

**In addition to the above postings, Summit Security Services Inc. is also looking for fill in Security Officers. These positions require that the individual be available to work if needed on an on call basis, sometimes being called in two-four hours prior to the start of a shift. You MUST be flexible in the hours and must be able to travel within Nassau for Nassau County residents or Suffolk County for Suffolk County residents.
Pay for fill in Officers varies from $9.00-$15.90 (+$1.75) PER HOUR depending on experience level– most of our locations are prevailing wage paying $15.90 (+$1.75)
