It’s a question the average person would probably struggle with: What’s the difference between a campus police officer and a traditional police officer?
There are some people out there that liken campus police officers to security guards and others who don’t see any differences between campus police and traditional police. Both opinions are deeply flawed.
The reality is that although many campus police are former police officers, the roles that both types of police play in their respective communities vary greatly. In turn their training, responsibilities and mindsets are often at odds.
