HOUSTON – Surveillance video and an anonymous tip helped police bring charges against two men accused of murdering a security guard on Dec. 22. Security guard Saul Cruz, 71, was shot several times while sitting in his patrol car outside a convenience store on Anderson at Campden Hill. Surveillance video shows two men with faces covered approaching the car. One man is seen holding a rifle, the other a pistol.

HOUSTON – Two people have been charged with capital murder for the December shooting death of a Houston security guard. Saul Cruz, 71, was ambushed as he sat in his patrol car at a gas station at 4735 Anderson three days before Christmas. The suspects robbed Cruz, shot him 15 times and ran away. Daniel Moreno, 22, and Jonathan Vasquez, 21, were identified through a Crime Stoppers tip after police released surveillance video.
