Mychael J. Garrett , Charges Filed in Wellston MetroLink Station Shooting

WELLSTON • A man from Normandy was charged Friday with shooting a MetroLink security guard at the Wellston station a day earlier.
Prosecutors charged Mychael J. Garrett II, 22, of the 1600 block of Castle Park Drive, with first-degree assault, armed criminal action and resisting arrest. Bail for Garrett was set at $250,000 cash. Charges say Garrett shot a security officer, 29, in the right shoulder with a .380 semi-automatic pistol about 2 p.m. at the station, 6420 Plymouth Avenue. Garrett was then shot and seriously wounded by two St. Louis County officers.
