VIDEO: Surveillance shows security guard wrestle, fight would-be robber at Valero in NE Houston. HOUSTON – A man is on the run after he was shot by a security guard while trying to rob a Valero gas station in northeast Houston, police said. The man, who was robbing the store in the 8000 block of Lockwood just before 2 a.m., tried to take a gun from the guard, police said. Surveillance video shows the two wrestling and fighting. The guard was able to push the man outside. The owner quickly ran out to help the guard. Investigators said the owner hit the suspect in the head with a large wooden stick two to three times. The security guard then shot the suspect in the leg shortly after, police said.
