Must have 2 years of security experience. Military experience or those who have a degree in Criminal Justice will be considered in lieu of the 2 years of security experience.
Must have valid 8 and 16 hour certifications as well as the NYS Security License.
Collect payments from customers.
Valid Driver’s License (preferred not required)
Must have great customer service skills.
Must be able to provide 10+ years of work and residence history.

Security guards are to observe and enforce the security operating procedures (SOP) and post orders to protect life and property. Security Guards will be assigned to fixed posts and foot patrols within the interior or exterior of the site.
Responsibilities include: Providing clear direction, information and assistance to client visitors, guests, vendors and employees in a professional, pleasant and courteous fashion Checking ID’s Access control Visually inspecting all visitor, vendor and employee access badges to verify that the authorized holder is the individual presenting the badge to prevent unauthorized access to the property Maintaining surveillance and reporting of any suspicious persons, vehicles and/or packages Assist site personnel in providing proper instructions and directions during emergencies Patrolling the construction site on a regular basis Maintaining an active presence at the access gates

New York Oct 26 2015 The NYPD has suffered its worst spate of fatal shootings of on-duty cops in 26 years, with four officers slain in 10 months.
Officer Randolph Holder became the fourth on Tuesday, following Brooklyn cops Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos in December, and Queens cop Brian Moore in May.
Not since 1989 have so many officers been gunned down on duty in such a short period.
That year, four cops were shot to death between March and November.
The NYPD’s worst years were 1930 (with 19 fatally shot on duty), 1931 (18), 1938 (17), 1922 (17), 1932 (15) and 1971 (15).
Prohibition, bootlegging and the Great Depression are blamed for the large tolls of the 1920s and 1930s.
The 1971 carnage is attributed to the Black Liberation Army and other militants in the city.
