EAST GERMANTOWN – A bar manager in East Germantown was shot and killed, and police say the man accused is the bar’s own security guard.
The deadly shooting happened at Sharon’s Little Spot Bar on the 5600 block of Boyer Street, just before 11 p.m. Monday.
Police say it stemmed from an argument between the 44-year-old manager and the 28-year-old armed security guard, both whom were working at the time of the shooting.

PITTSBURGH —A Ross Park Mall security guard has been fired after he accidentally shot a friend in the buttocks after the mall was closed Tuesday night, police said.
The shooting happened at about 11 p.m. in the mall security office, as the guard was getting ready to go home for the night, police said.
“He was loading his personal weapon when he accidentally discharged the firearm,” Ross Township police Detective Brian Kohlhepp said. “The fired projectile went through a wooden stand and struck another person in the buttocks.”
The victim was treated at a hospital and has been released, police said.
The guard worked for Universal Protection Services, police said. He has not been identified.
Police said they do not expect to file any charges.
Kohlhepp. “I was told he was in good spirits about the whole event.” The guard’s name has not been released, but he was employed by Universal Protection Services, not Ross Park Mall. He has since been relieved of his duties as a security guard at the mall.
